New Stipend Opportunity Available to Group Child Care Programs in City of Milwaukee (Para español lea más abajo).

A new opportunity is available for group child care programs located in the City of Milwaukee. Programs can apply for this one-time, $500 stipend to distribute to staff who haven’t received a stipend from the City of Milwaukee Workforce Early Childhood Stipend Program. This program is designed to provide stipends to and support individuals at programs who are not eligible for the City of Milwaukee Early Childhood Workforce Stipend Program, which provides support to individuals in caregiving roles.

This one-time stipend seeks to recognize staff who work in non-caregiving roles that are essential to support young children, families, and communities. Roles eligible for this program-level stipend include, but are not limited to, nutrition coordinators/cooks/kitchen staff, bus drivers/transportation staff, cleaning staff/janitors, office staff, directors and administrators (who do not care for children), etc. The one-time $500 stipend will be awarded to the program, which will be responsible for distributing it to their staff.
